Then from Garibaldi central station you take the Metro line 2 and get off at the fourth stop, Mergellina station: At the Metro stations, including the central Garibaldi station, you can conveniently pay by credit card using the Tap/In system at the entrance station and the Tap/Out system at the arrival station to be charged the fare. The apartment is then a 6-7 minute walk away from Mergellina Station.

To use the "tap in tap out" feature on the Naples metro, you must tap your contactless card or smartphone (TAP IN) to the reader on the turnstile at the entrance and do the same thing again (TAP OUT) on the reader at the exit. It's essential to always use the same card for both taps; otherwise, the system may charge you multiple times or the maximum fare, especially if you forget to tap out. If you don't tap out, the system applies the maximum fare, but you can correct the error by registering online by 4:30  the following day. 

 The system automatically calculates the best fare for your trip.

You must have one payment card per person.

How to use contactless cards and debit cards to travel on public transport in Naples:

-The system automatically calculates the best fare for your trip and charges it to your card.

-The system is valid and functional for the subway (Lines 1 and 2), Cable railways, buses, trams, and the EAV Cumana Flegrea train line in Naples.

Fiumicino express bus or Flixbus directly from the terminal to Naples central station Garibaldi  and from there line 2 train (Metro) to Mergellina Station. This is the most comfortable way but it takes more time. 

Otherwise Leonardo train from Fiumicino to Roma Termini station, from there Frecciarossa train or Italo train to Naples Centrale (not Afragola!) and from Napoli Centrale metro train line 2 to Mergellina Station. Frecciarossa and Italo are 2 High Speed trains, the trip is 1 h long. If you use Trenitalia website, you can buy the ticket writing Fiumicino Airport as a starting point and Mergellina as destination because also the line 2 metro is a trenitalia line.
