How to use contactless cards and debit cards to travel on public transport in Naples:

-To use the "tap in tap out" feature on the Naples metro, you must tap your contactless card or smartphone (TAP IN) to the reader on the turnstile at the entrance and do the same thing again (TAP OUT) on the reader at the exit. It's essential to always use the same card for both taps; otherwise, the system may charge you multiple times or the maximum fare, especially if you forget to tap out. If you don't tap out, the system applies the maximum fare, but you can correct the error by registering online by 4:30 AM the following day. 

-The system automatically calculates the best fare for your trip and charges it to your card.

-The system is valid and functional for the subway (Lines 1 and 2), Cable railways, buses, trams, and the EAV Cumana Flegrea train line in Naples.
